"When the fervor of political passions moves the executive and legislative branches to act in ways inimical to basic constitutional principles, it is the duty of the judiciary to intervene. We must conscientiously guard the independence of our judiciary and safeguard the Constitution, even in the face of the unfathomable human tragedy that has befallen Mrs. Schiavo and her family." - Judge Stanley F. Birch in the latest round of this political nightmare.

Anything to distract from the gay hookers having security clearance access to the White House, right?

His god must be punishing him for something.

quickly

Jesse Jackson jumps on the Schiavo bandwagon. What's with the timing?

My roommate makes the comparison between Michael Jackson and Howard Hughes. It makes sense. Someone should get on the screenplay. Chrisafer?

"The conservative right of this country has lobbied frantically for two decades to finally get control of both houses," he continued. "We didn't get here so they could pour this down the drain."

You shameful bastard.

Hmmm

So here's a modern day etiquette question... Do I remain p-o'd that I had to spend the whole day cleaning up after a co-worker's mess while she was out, or do I thank her, because the way I resolved everything probably got me the job permanently?

Your sweat is salty, I am why.

I moved. Thank god. The drip drip drip of the rusty pipes from the apartment above was getting a bit much. I'm moving again in three months. It's all very tiresome, really.

I'm also working, and there is a strong possibility that I may go permanent here. I can't and won't say too much about the job, other than it's for a major media conglomerate, and I will soon be controlling your thoughts. Otherwise, I must keep mum, because I don't want to be like those other silly indiscreet blogger types who get themselves fired.

Frankly with all the stress of moving and yet another 'fresh' start, I haven't had much time to think, much less write. But I do want to comment on one thing. Am I the only person that is tired of reading about how disconnected we all are? How great of you to make the observation, but maybe part of the problem is letting yourselves act so powerless about it? "I walked around Manhattan and everyone was on their cellphones" or "I'm Andrew Sullivan and New York is full of iPods."

Well, surprise, surprise. Human societies are fluid, things change. How nice of you to notice.

Who will it be?

I read this, and yet I think of chrisafer.
