New York finally has real barbecue, Texas style, at Hill Country in Chelsea/Flatiron. By Texas standards, it's expensive, but what do you expect in New York? The brisket doesn't even need sauce. My friend and I stuffed ourselves silly, (they even import sausage from one of the more well-known bbq joint from one of the bbqtowns that we Austinites grew up driving out to on the weekends.) The sides are only decent, the sauce tasted like HP sauce(not authentic), and I wish they had imported some Shiner Bock beer, if they were going for Austin authentic. Also, the white bread (for sopping up grease and sauce) was too nice. It's supposed to be Wonder bread. But I will going back again and again, for my own special brand of comfort food.
